Announcement from the Market Cross Surgery

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE MARKET CROSS SURGERY – CORONAVIRUS VACCINATION CENTRE

We now have confirmation that our Covid vaccination programme will begin on Friday 15th January at the Jubilee Centre in Mildenhall. We are in the process of contacting eligible patients by telephone with details of their appointment according to the strict criteria set out in the national guidance.

PLEASE DO NOT RING THE SURGERY OR THE JUBILEE CENTRE ENQUIRING ABOUT A COVID VACCINATION - WE WILL CONTACT YOU WHEN IT IS YOUR TURN. More »

This unprecedented vaccination campaign will of course put considerable extra strain on our clinical and administrative staff at a time when we are already extremely busy coping with the pandemic. We remain committed to providing as high level a service to you as possible prioritising those in most immediate need. We will continue to provide routine vaccinations for babies and infants as well as cervical smears for eligible women.

Please be patient with our staff at this difficult time as this will make our days more manageable.

REMEMBER - despite putting on this huge and difficult vaccination programme, we still want to hear from patients who have serious problems. Our total triage system run by our doctors and nurses will remain in place and e-consult is available for those patients who prefer this approach (see our website for detail). » Less

Announcement regarding Vaccination Centre in Mildenhall

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COVID-19 VACCINATION CLINICS

Over the last few weeks we have been working with our neighbouring NHS practices in the Forest Heath Primary Care Network (GP surgeries in Mildenhall, Red Lodge Brandon, and Newmarket areas) to coordinate the setting up of a Covid-19 vaccination clinic for our local residents.

The final inspection took place yesterday morning at the Jubilee Centre, Mildenhall (at the back of Sainsbury's) with members of the West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group and we are hoping to have confirmation of approval to use this site by the end of tomorrow. If we do get permission to proceed clinics should be starting towards the end of next week depending on vaccine delivery. More »

These clinics will be run on specific days jointly by staff from the above mentioned practices and will provide a vaccination service to our local population based on the clinical priority grouping defined by the Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisations (JCVI).

ONCE WE RECEIVE FINAL APPROVAL FOR THE JUBILEE CENTRE TO BE USED FOR A COVID VACCVINATION CLINIC AND ONCE WE KNOW THE FIRST DAY THAT VACCINATIONS WILL BE DELIVERED, WE WILL BE CONTACTING ELIGIBLE PATIENTS DIRECTLY WITH DETAILS OF WHEN TO ATTEND THEIR APPOINTMENT.

IN THE MEANTIME PLEASE DO NOT RING ANY OF THE PRACTICES ABOVE OR THE JUBILEE CENTRE REGARDING THE VACCINE AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BOOK A COVID VACCINATION YOURSELF. » Less
